NPG Sports welcomes its newest client, RHP STEVEN MAZUR, of the Baltimore Orioles organization!
Steven was drafted by the Orioles in the 33rd Round of the 2010 MLB Amateur Draft out of the University of Notre Dame. After starting the season with the Orioles’ Rookie League team, Steven was quickly promoted to the Short-Season club in Aberdeen, MD. Even though he arrived after the season was well under way, Steven currently leads the team in saves, while keeping his ERA at 1.00.

Tim Brown signs with the Philadelphia Phillies

NPG Sports congratulates RHP TIM BROWN, whose contract was purchased by the Philadelphia Phillies from the Lincoln Saltdogs of the Independent American Association!
Tim signed with the Saltdogs in 2009 after graduating from Pittsburg State University. In ‘09, Tim led Lincoln to the American Association Championship by going 5-1, 2.59 ERA, 27 SO, 9 BB in 62.2 IP. This season was more of the same, as Tim continued to showcase his exceptional control and pitch-to-contact abilities.
After signing with the Phillies, Tim was placed with their Rookie Gulf Coast League team and currently has a 2.25 ERA. His story shows that hard work, persistence, and determination really does pay off. Congrats, again, Tim!

We would like to welcome new client ALBERT CARTWRIGHT, 2b, Houston Astros organization to the fold!
Albert, a native of the Bahamas, was selected by the Astros in 36th Round of the 2007 MLB Amateur Draft out of Polk Community College in Florida. This season, Albert started in High-A ball in Lancaster, CA. However, he tore up the California League and was hitting .319, 26 2b, 13 3b, 10 HR, 48 RBI, 33 BB, 24 SB when he received a promotion and was called up to Double-A at the end of July.
Currently, Albert is the starting second baseman for the Corpus Christi Hooks, and continues to hit, run, and play stellar defense.

Here is a brief look at where and how are clients are performing as of June 23, 2010:
SHANE ZEGARAC, LHP, Bakersfield Blaze (Rangers High Class A): Shane continues to perform well in short relief, posting a 2-1 record, with a 2.84 ERA in 19.0 IP. He also has 17 SO to only 9 BB, and 5 HLDs.
BRETT NEWSOME, 1b, Hagerstown Suns (Nationals Low Class A): Brett finished the first half of 2010 second on the team in hitting with a .311 avg, along with 11 2B, 3 3B, and an .884 OPS. He tore up the month of June through the All-Star break hitting .409, with a .659 SLG and 1.117 OPS.
CHRIS TREMBLAY, SS, Eugene Emeralds (Padres Short-Season): Chris is 2 for 10 in 3 games so far on the young season, while playing stellar defense and providing strong leadership.
ROBERT SABO, RHP, Eugene Emeralds (Padres Short-Season): Robert was drafted by the Padres in the 44th round of the 2010 MLB Amateur Draft. He made his professional debut on 6/21/10 going 2.0 IP in relief without allowing a run and giving up only 1 H, 1 BB, and 2 SO.
JAKE DUNNING, RHP, Salem-Keizer Volcanoes (Giants Short-Season): Jake bounced back beautifully from a rough first outing of 2010 to pitch 2.0 innings of scoreless relief on 6/21/10, allowing just 1 H, while striking out 5 of the 8 batters he faced, including 4 in one inning! On the young season, Jake has 7 SO in only 3.0 IP.
MICHAEL EARLEY, OF, Great Falls Voyagers (White Sox Short-Season): Drafted in the 29th round of the 2010 MLB Draft, Michael made his professional debut on 6/21/10. Through 2 games and 6 ABs, Michael is hitless, but does have 1 SB and a run scored. We expect big things to come from this kid.
DARIAN SANDFORD, 2b/CF, Arizona Royals (Royals Rookie League): Drafted in the 47th round of the 2010 MLB Draft, Darian “Primetime” Sandford became just the 2nd player in the history of Park University to be selected by an MLB team. He is currently fine-tuning his switch-hitting skills in Surprise, AZ, and we look forward to the time when the Royals will unleash Darian and his 6.29 sixty speed!
TIM BROWN, RHP, Lincoln Saltdogs (American Association): Tim is currently 4-3 as a starting pitcher for the defending AA Champion Saltdogs. He has 22 SO and 12 BB in 42.0 IP, with an ERA of 4.71.
GREG LANE, RHP, Lincoln Saltdogs (American Association): Greg pitches out of the bullpen for the ‘dogs and is 2-0, with 13 SO and only 3 BB in 18 IP, and holds an ERA of 4.50.
DOUG SANDERS, 2b, River City Rascals (Frontier League): Doug is currently second on the team in hitting with a.321 avg, and leads the team in RBI with 23 and slugging % at .512. He is known throughout the league for his aggressive and old school style of play.
