NPG Sports welcomes its newest client: Brett Newsome

February 17th, 2010

Chicago, IL – NPG Sports is proud to welcome its newest client to the team: Brett Newsome, 1B, Washington Nationals organization. Brett was signed by the Washington Nationals in 2008 after his junior year at St. Ambrose (IA) University, during which he hit an astounding .470 with a .792 slugging percentage, and was named the Midwest Collegiate Conference Player of the Year.

Brett’s first stop with the Nationals was with the Rookie League team. After having only 53 ABs in 2008, Brett turned things up a notch in 2009, hitting .318, with 6 HRs and 35 RBI before getting promoted to the team’s Class A team in Hagerstown, MD. Although he only had 15 ABs in Hagerstown, Brett made the most of it and finished the 2009 season there with a .400 average. Brett received an invitation to attend the team’s Instructional League in the Fall of 2009, and continued to impress the Nationals with his hitting prowess.

Brett enters 2010 Spring Training expecting to continue where he left off last year, and we believe he is in for a very successful season.
