Chicago, IL – NPG Sports is proud to announce the signing of its newest client, Shane Zegarac, LHP, Texas Rangers organization. Shane was drafted by the Rangers in the 42nd round of the 2009 MLB Draft out of St. Joseph’s College in Rensselaer, Indiana. He began the ’09 season with the team’s Short-Season club in Spokane, where he made 9 appearances out of the bullpen and compiled a record of 2-0, with a 3.60 ERA, 10 BB, and 10 K in 10 innings of work.
Shane was then assigned to the team’s Rookie League club, where he continued to shine in relief. He appeared in 9 games, going 1-1, with a 3.57 ERA, with 21 K and only 8 BB in 27.2 innings of work. Shane will be reporting to Spring Training on February 28, 2010.
