Kyle Hart among Boston Red Sox roster pool players who could make MLB debut in 2020

The Red Sox selected seven players without any major league experience to be part of their roster player pool that they submitted to Major League Baseball on Sunday.

MLB teams were required to send 60-player roster pools to MLB by 4 p.m. These rosters consist of players eligible for major league games in 2020. Teams were not required to send a complete list of 60.

The Red Sox sent a list of 47 players. And so they still will add 13 players during spring training 2.0, which begins at Fenway Park this week. Players are scheduled to report Wednesday. That means more players without any major league experience still could be added.

Bobby Dalbec, Kyle Hart, C.J. Chatham and Jonathan Arauz made the cut. They are members of the 40-man roster who likely will make their major league debuts this season.

The Red Sox have selected nine non 40-man roster players for the pool so far. Three of them — Connor Wong, Robinson Leyer and Domingo Tapia — have not yet played in the big leagues.

Jeter Downs, Bryan Mata, Tanner Houck, Jantzen Witte, Nick Longhi, Jarren Duran, Daniel McGrath, Marcus Wilson, Josh Ockimey, Jay Groome, Thad Ward and Triston Casas are candidates with no major league experience who still could make the roster pool.

Players without MLB experience who have made it:
Kyle Hart LHP: The Red Sox added the 27-year-old — a 2016 19th-round pick who signed for $5,000 — to the 40-man roster in November. His plus-slider has helped him post a 3.13 ERA in 77 minor league outings (71 starts). Baseball America has him ranked No. 29 in the system.
