Congratulations to CHAD MARTIN on being selected by the Chicago Cubs in the 10th round of the 2012 MLB Amateur Draft!
Chad is a huge 6’7″, 240 lbs RHP out of Indiana University who possesses a power arm. He opened eyes of Cubs’ brass at a pre-draft workout in which he consistently lit up radar guns with 95 and 96 mph readings, to go along with a very sharp, biting curve ball.
“I was ecstatic,” said Chad upon learning that he had been selected by the Cubs. “It’s a great feeling and something I’ve been working toward for a long time. I’m a Cubs fan, so it was kind of nice to be drafted by a team so close to my hometown.”
We look forward to seeing Chad on the bump at Wrigley Field within the next couple of years!
