Edwin was originally drafted in the 9th round of the 2002 MLB Draft by the Milwaukee Brewers out of Highlands (TX) High School. He spent three (3) seasons in the Brewers organization, before injuries caught up with him. He spent four seasons playing in the independent leagues, as well as parts of two seasons in the New York Yankees organization before signing with the Astros for the 2010 season.

Edwin is expected to break 2011 Spring Training with the club’s Double-A team, with the strong possibility of being placed on the Triple-A club.
